  • CONTEMPLATION, INHERITANCE AND PLAY, Aldous Plascencia

    FEBRUARY/MARCH 2024

Aldous Plascencia is Mexican-born Australian mixed media artist whose bi-cultural upbringing introduced him to mystic European mythology and Mexican folklore. He combines these ideas with geometry and bright colours to create paintings with detailed puzzles and sculptures. Rich, bright textures conjure up ideas from surrealism, magic, alchemy, astrology and psychology. Devils are some of his main characters, representing the dark side of the psyche, the shadow in the human experience.
